Meet Our Expert Faculty

Miss. Chelsea

R.A.D., RTS, PBT, Silver Swan Licensee, Acrobatic Arts, ADAPT MODULE 1-2-3, ALIXA FLEXIBILITY

Miss Chelsea’s love for dance began at the age of 2, and it has continued to flourish ever since. She is a national champion in both Canada and the United States, earning numerous scholarships and prestigious titles along the way. Chelsea received her formal training at Dimensions in Dance, the leading studio in the Kitchener-Waterloo Region. Under the guidance of internationally renowned choreographer and studio owner Kimberly Kay, and Dora Mavor Award-nominated performer and educator Jay T. Schramek, Chelsea honed her skills across multiple disciplines.

Starting ballet at age 2, Chelsea developed a strong technical foundation under the mentorship of Katherine Kuwabara, R.A.D. She has excelled in numerous Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) examinations, achieving Distinction in every exam. Additionally, Chelsea has successfully completed the Royal Academy of Dance Teacher Certificate Program and is now RAD-certified.

Beyond her dance accomplishments, Chelsea has expanded her knowledge by completing studies in child psychology, anatomy and kinesiology, body conditioning, and health and safety. She is also a proud member of the Professional Adjudicator Alliance, and her expertise has been sought after as a guest choreographer for Dance Attack and other competitions and workshops.

Miss Chelsea’s training is extensive, having participated in master classes with renowned professionals such as Blake McGrath, Stacey Tookey, and clinician Michel Figaux, among many others. She continues to attend workshops, teacher expos, and seminars to stay on the cutting edge of dance education, ensuring she brings the latest and best techniques to her students.

Miss. Kim

Miss Kim has been immersed in the world of dance since 1965, starting her training at just two years old at The London School of Dance under the direction of Kathleen Binns. Throughout her years as a student, she completed numerous RAD exams, earning highly commended and honours. Kim started teaching and retired from dance instruction in 1993. In 2016, Miss Kim partnered with her daughter Chelsea to open Chelsea’s Dance Pac, where she now serves as the office manager and costume embellisher, continuing to contribute her expertise and passion for dance.

Miss. Theresa

Theresa began her dance career at the age of 4, studying and competing in all genres of dance; ballet, jazz, modern, lyrical, musical theatre, and tap. 

In 1987, she started her career in teaching And is currently a tap and jazz examiner with the PERFORMING ART EDUCATORS of CANADA (PAEC). Theresa has adjudicated throughout southern Ontario; most recently she has acquired a license in tap adjudication from the INTERNATIONAL DANCE ORGANIZATION (IDO). A highlight in her career was being one of the choreographer for TEAM CANADA in 2015, 2016, 2018, and coming up in 2021.

As a mother of three and a grandmother; Theresa brings a enriched and unique perspective into a child’s learning and development. As well as bringing a high level of care with every dancer she works with; inviting dancers with of all ability and special needs into her classes.

Theresa is very excited to another an amazing season with Chelsea Dance Pac.

Miss. Ava

Ava Kotick is a Canadian teacher, choreographer, and dancer. She grew up dancing in the United States, under the direction of the Princeton Ballet School and the Dance Corner. Whilst in the States she had the privilege to train with choreographers such as Abby Lee Miller, Alexa Moffett, Mollee Gray, and more. In her teens, Kotick moved to Ontario and continued her competitive dance training. Although she enjoyed dancing she realized her true passion was teaching and began to volunteer at the Wildwood Academy, a school for special needs children. Through this experience, she learned how to teach students with a variety of disabilities such as Autism, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, Oppositional Defiant Behaviour, and Developmental Delays. Most recently, Kotick worked with the Etobicoke School of the Arts’ dance department to reconstruct Ontario’s Secondary School dance courses to make them accessible to special education students.

Kotick is a graduate of York University for her special honours BFA degree in dance where she had the opportunity to learn under some of Toronto’s best industry professionals. Now part of the Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers and Professional Adjudicators Alliance, she continues to teach in studios and schools across the GTA and throughout the States, and is eager to continue pulling the passion out of every one of her students.

SUPER DAVE

Dave is a part of Ambitious Movement, a Hip-hop based dance and Entertainment Company lead by choreographer Ambitious Anthony Smith.

 Dave has made televised appearances on “So You Think You Can Dance” Pre show, Family Channel’s “The Next Step,” Toronto’s Public Health commercial, Chapman’s Ice Cream commercial, “Reign” from the CW Network and a few music videos. He’s also showcased his talent on stages such as World of Dance (Toronto), Wii Day, Toronto’s Choreographers Ball, and the Bazaar Dance Showcase just to name a few. You may also find Dave on the judging panel for Hip-Hop International’s Canadian Hip-Hop Championships.

Dave is trained in different styles of Hip-hop but has trained intensively in waving, popping, tutting, breakin’ and house. He specializes in hip-hop choreography, Hip-hop technique, R&B and tumbling. With all this knowledge under his belt, Dave decided to begin passing it down to the next generations and created his crew, “Rising Legion.”

MISS. Grace

Miss Grace’s passion for dance began when she started taking ballet lessons at the age of 4. She started dancing competitively at a studio in Barrie at the age of 9, competing in various styles of dance such as Lyrical, Contemporary, Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Hip Hop. Her career as a competitive dancer ended after graduating from Bear Creek Secondary School. During her time in secondary school Grace completed her Specialist High Skills Major program in the Arts and Culture division and earned a Heart of Dance award for her commitment to the dance program as well as a Certificate of Achievement for completing all 6 dance courses offered at the school.

Grace’s love for teaching dance began at the age of 12 when she became an assistant teacher. In June 2020 Grace earned her ADAPT Assistant Teacher certification which allowed her to start teaching classes as an instructor, under the guidance of her mentor, Jolenne Bradley. Since beginning her career as a dance teacher Grace has completed her PBT Teacher Certification and her ADAPT Jazz and Tap Teacher Certification. She is currently studying dance at York University in their Dance and Concurrent Education program, where she aims to graduate with a BFA/BEd degree.

Miss. Paityn

Paityn has been passionate about dance since the age of two, honing her skills and performing in numerous regional and national competitions. She has received extensive training at Dimensions in Dance and Chelsea’s Dance Pac leading to invitations to join the prestigious Canadian Tap Team and participate in the three-time World Performer Invitational.

Paityn has three years of experience as an assistant and currently serves as a junior teacher at Chelsea Dance Pac. Her qualifications include examinations with PAEC and numerous RAD exams. We are proud to have Paityn as a valued member of our faculty, where she continues to inspire and guide our students with her expertise and dedication.

Miss. Sarah

Sarah started dancing at the age of 4 and joined the competitive team at age 8.
 
She has trained and competed in various styles of dance, starting with just Ballet, jazz, and modern but adding in Acro, Lyrical, Contemporary and Open, as she got older. She has competed all across Ontario as well as nationals in Florida and In her time competing she has achieved many overalls and special awards 
 
Sarah has completed her ADPT Teacher Training year 1 and Acrobatic arts module 1 certification and is working towards her module two.  She has completed ballet exams, Vaganova method up to level elementary, as well as Jazz and modern exams. Sarah started teaching recreational and competitive dance at 17 for local dance studios and has already achieved many overalls and judges choice for her dances! 

Miss. Cecilia

Cecilia is 23 years old, she started dancing at the age of 8 and started competing at the age of 10. She competed up until she graduated High School. She is trained in Jazz, Musical Theatre, Song and Dance, Lyrical, Contemporary, Ballet, Pointe, Acro, and a bit of Tap, competing in many of those styles as well. During her competition journey Cecilia has won many awards, overalls and special awards. As a dancer she has done R.A.D Ballet exams up to the Intermediate level and an Acrobatic Arts level 5 exam. In 2016 Cecilia was a dancer in “The Nutcracker” with the National Ballet of Canada in Toronto! 

Post High School, Cecilia completed 2 dance programs at George Brown College, in the 1 year Performance Preparatory Program she graduated with a Certificate with honours and in the 2 year Performance Program she graduated with a Diploma with honours. During her time at George Brown she was training Jazz, Modern, Contemporary, Ballet, Pointe, Acting, Vocals and Self Choreography classes. Cecilia has worked with many well known Toronto dancers and choreographers during her college time. 

Cecilia has been teaching recreational and competitive dancers for only 3 years but her competitive choreography has already won many awards including special awards, choreography awards and overall awards. She loves teaching and watching her students improve and grow and she can’t wait to keep growing as a teacher as well.
